2023 has been a powerful year for Central Texas Interfaith’s leaders on state and local issues with important wins at both levels. 

At the state legislature, we made major impacts around reducing corporate tax breaks, extending Medicaid for women after pregnancy, supporting the creation of a Texas HBCU Legislative Caucus, protecting colonias from harmful infrastructure bills, and ensuring gun safety.

Locally, in Travis, Hays and Bastrop Counties, we worked with our communities for more equitable parks and green space, funding for workforce development programs that lift people out of poverty, the impact of rapid development in rural areas, and supporting those experiencing homelessness.

Just this past election, we had a strong Get Out The Vote (GOTV) effort. Our supporters voted 3x the rate of the general registered voters.  This is a demonstration of not only support for our issues but the power of our network to get people out to vote!
